Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques

The Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques area is a technical core of the MBA programme. The progressions in manufacturing & production technology and processes always keep this area ever-evolving with the pace of time. The area aims at preparing graduates to embrace the challenges and accept the future value-creating opportunities leading towards operational excellence. The core focus of the area is to prepare future managers to improve the quality and optimize the cost by applying proven principles and evolving new principles with evidence-based practices. The Area offers fundamental core courses in the first year of the MBA programme besides a host of other electives in the final year of the program including Lean Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management, International Logistics, Total Quality Management, Project Management, Predictive Analytics, Data Analytics and Data Mining, Management Consulting, Operations Management in Services and distribution to name a few. It also offers advanced-level courses in the doctoral program.

To cater to the ever-increasing demand for proficiency and expertise in a specific domain, the area focuses on certification programmes in collaboration with consulting organizations of great repute. The Area faculties are encouraged to have strong industry linkages that enable participants to be at the cutting edge of industry relevance. To impart real-time learning and to keep participants abreast with happenings in the industry, the faculty members work as a team with the objectives of using effective pedagogy in delivery, including simulation, cases, field visits; to keep updated the curriculum and syllabus based on stakeholders’ feedback. A concentrated teaching approach aligned with industry requirements helps develop managers who are ready to take techno-managerial roles.
